Nothing funny about Thatcher; Letters
0 Comments | Coventry Evening Telegraph (England), July 24, 2010
THIS letter is in response to Mr B Ward of Earlsdon re Thatcher i.e. his amusement at comments concerning the former prime minister.
There was nothing amusing about the children who went without the school milk Thatcher stopped.
There was nothing amusing about the miners and their families suffering hardship and eventual loss of their livelihoods here in Coventry and beyond.
There was nothing amusing about soldiers being sent off to war in the Falklands for an island that was privately owned.
There was something amusing when her son got lost in a race across the desert and the Air Force had to be called out to find him.
W C Allen, Westcotes, Tile Hill, Coventry.
